BRINGING IT HOME


The American Advertising Federation (AAF) honored DCA with one Silver and five Gold National ADDY® Awards for the exceptional branding and marketing of DCA’s headquarters at 11 West Huling and The Residence next-door. 

Judged by expert members of the AAF out of a preliminary field of more than 30,000 entries, DCA’s honors represent 6.5% of the total National Gold awards bestowed to advertising professionals at the industry’s largest creative competition.

“The AAF recognizes, honors and celebrates great advertising talent and creativity,” said Steve Pacheco, President and CEO of the American Advertising Federation. "I’m really proud to celebrate some American Advertising Awards winning work from my hometown of Memphis.

"Memphis is a city on the move and has an incredible base of creative talent and advertising firepower that gets recognized locally, regionally, nationally and globally,” he continued.

Doug Carpenter, founder and principal of DCA, purchased the former NABISCO warehouse in April 2017, moving his firm into the space at the close of 2017. DCA spearheaded the brand identity and environmental design of the space, treating 11 West Huling as a formal client. The 8,500-square-foot building hosts DCA as primary tenant as well as a curated group of public and private events. 

“Our team unlocked historical narrative from the Nabisco warehouse of one hundred years ago, and its parallels to today’s DCA environment and culture are beautifully similar,” said Carpenter. 

The historically-inspired brand identity of 11 West Huling carries into the attached three-level, 2,200-square-foot private residence on the property, which once served as the stables and carriage house for Nabisco’s horse-drawn delivery fleet in the early 1900s and now is an active Airbnb, attracting business- and leisure-focused visitors from around the world.
