DCA, a creative communications consulting firm in Downtown Memphis, received 18 awards at the 52nd American Advertising Awards on Saturday, February 25 at Clark Tower, including Best in Show in the Out-of-Home category for the Readbox pop-up installation for the Memphis Public Libraries.

“Reading isn’t just an essential skill—reading can be playful, spontaneous, and fun,” said Keenon McCloy, Director of the Memphis Public Libraries. “The Readbox resonated with so many and brought national attention to the Memphis Public Libraries because it informed people about the diversity of media available at your local library branch, and captured the essence of not just meeting people halfway, but meeting them exactly where they are.”

Judged by creative directors from across the country with decades of experience between them, DCA’s winning work displays a wide spectrum of creative prowess, from emphasizing the value of hospitality in the 11 W. Huling Residence Welcome Box and the Folk’s Folly Steakhouse Campaign, to demonstrating local progress and prosperity through civic assets like the Memphis Public Libraries and Mighty Lights for a national audience. 

“At DCA, we have the same goal as many of our clients: to advance our city through positive reinforcement of Memphis culture,” said DCA Principal Doug Carpenter. “We’re honored that our clients choose us to execute their creative vision, and to be recognized for that effort.”
